Red Panda Pillow

I’ve been absent forever. This is what having a toddler does!!!! But seriously, I have been crafting a bunch and painting…..kiddo is at daycare and I have some time to myself, so time to update!

I love red pandas (and how much they sleep, seriously my spirit animal), and decided to use scrap fabric and make my own red panda pillow since there’s nothing great on the market. I had a bunch of different colors and was inspired by some freehand stitching on pinterest.

Here’s what I started with..I printed out the picture I wanted to go off of, then traced over a basic outline on a white piece of paper and cut out the individual pieces of fabric (using the paper as my template/stencil), pinned then how I wanted and sewed for the face. The freeform/freehand sewing was fun to do and adds so much….

Cat Art of 2017

I had several commissioned pieces this past year- again, didn’t do much in the spring as busy adjusting to life as a mom, but now that I’m more into a routine, I’ve gotten back into the swing of things. Thought I would share some of my feline portraits of 2017.

Fleece Blanket Presents!

Every year I make my co-workers gifts for all or part of their presents for the holidays. Last year I did the coasters (see posting from last year of cat/dog silhouette coasters). This year…. FLEECE BLANKETS.

Basic materials: fleece blankets (purchased at a brick and mortar store), embroidery thread, and felt! Basically every time we were sitting on the couches watching TV, I’d work on them.

I wish I had pictures of all of them (I think it was eighteen total), but of course I didn’t remember until I gave them to everyone!
